In Vaxjo there are many greens that have a little sign during the summer. A statement from the city that they are not being lazy and skip cutting grass, but they want to help the insects and therefore postponed the mowing. I liked that action and followed their example and skipped mowing in spring and summer.
Not long after that I wondered why not taking it a step further? That's when I started a course in bee keeping to see if that would suite me. Half way through the course I was flipping through a catalog and decided that buying a beehive was not for me.
A few weeks later I finaly found a plan that felt right and I started constucting my own two beehives and a stand. I kept going with that idea, and make most equipment myself.
